Another variation on “Wirefalls” necklace : once again a simple finishing idea for a different style
Yes, we know! It’s the “Wirefalls” necklace again! This time we’ve kept all the chains tied together as we had originally done on the tutorial post, but instead of using an organza ribbon, we’ve made some macramé knots with leather thong as showed on the photos. It completely changes the necklace style and look, don’t you think?
Don’t worry: there are no more variations on “Wirefalls” necklace to show you on next posts!!
Now, you’ll have to find your own variations and style. However, we’ll have more examples showing how to use simple wire crochet chain to make jewellery and of course, we’ll keep on introducing crochet basic stitches. See you on next posts!
How to make the macramé knots?

Make the “Wirefalls necklace” by following the instructions from post Wire crocheted chains : “Wirefalls” necklace until step 7. Then, instead of using an organza ribbon, use two bits of wool to make an overhand knot on each side of the crochet finishing knots, tying this way all the chains’ strands together in two places. The chains’ section between both wool bits will work as the holding line where you’ll anchor the macramé knots over the wire crochet finishing knots in order to hide them. You’ll need to hang your sets of wire crocheted chains over a door handle so you can work your leather thong under tension.
To make these macramé knots you’ll need 2 pieces of black leather thong (you can use any colour you wish or even two different ones if you like) each one with approximately 60 cm length. Start by anchoring each leather bit to the holding line through a lark’s head knot. Then make a Josephine knot, followed by a square knot (also known as a flat knot). Finish your macramé knotting by tying all the strands of leather thong together with a common overhand knot. Cut the leather thong ends with ascending lengths. That’s it!
